ANOTHER n00b question, sorry
I've gone through the whole handbook (which, frankly is a superbly written piece of documentation, I haven't even got through the install yet and I'm really impressed with gentoo, if only for the docs!), up until the point of "emerge grub". I'm SURE I did everything as in the handbook.
Since this is my first time (ish, this is the first set of times I've tried installing) I've used stage3 and genkernel, with no network support.
This is the error message I recieve:
Code: |
Merging sys-boot/grub....
cat /proc/mounts: no such file or directory
* Cannot automatically mount your /boot partition.
|
Is this error to do with /etc/fstab? I think I need to change the way the boot partition is mounted there? Would a copy of my fstab file help?
PS thank you very much anyone who can help/give advice! |

Might want to remount all your points:
/boot
/proc
etc.
May also be useful to search "cat /proc/mounts: no such file or directory " as the term. There should be some threads on this. _________________ God is dead.
