I'm trying to get this NIC installed on my IBM X21, but get the following errors. I downloaded compiled, and installed the altmatel drivers from here.

I followed the install instructions here

and here
http://www.chip.org/~alb/SMC2632Wv2.html
but I get this message when gentoo tries to load the module (pcmf502r3)

| this compiled just fine with the 1.6 kernel. No issues now. |
