the return of write barriers
to enable the write barrier code for your partition/filesystem, add
"barrier=flush" for reiserfs, or "barrier=1" for ext3, to the options
for your partition. only reiserfs and ext3 work with it i think (feel free
to correct me if i am mistaken).
the suspend to ram fixes

EDIT: change the ebuild to read
LOVEPV_SRC="http://cos.evilforums.com/love/2.6.8-rc2-love3/${KV}.bz2"
instead of
LOVEPV_SRC="http://cos.evilforums.com/bin/${KV}.bz2"
and you should be set _________________ There is no substitute for experience.

Doh, you guys are fast. I compiled love2 earlier today and I haven't even rebooted yet. Keep it coming _________________ Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them? Then do not be too eager to deal out death in judgement.

neenee, so the patch damouse made for swsups didn't work? i'm not surprised if it didn't. so close! doh.
for those that needs swsups2, use this kernel http://www.darav.de/kernel_stuff.html
it seems like that is the kernel for laptops, love sources is great and all but without suspend, it's pretty hard to keep linux and laptops mobile
maybe i'll be able to patch love3 with swsusps patches.
thanks for the xyz-kernel to whomever posted the link when we were talking about swsusp2 (sorry i forgot your nick)

Why is there nforce2 patches? I thought they were not needed anymore. Has something changed? |

great release, thanks a lot ... everything works fine, inclusive bootsplash and vesafb ( applied vesa-rrc patch ), no more usb problem at boot.

This feels like a good one to me. The latency under load seems better and I'm not getting the audio glitches with heavy system use that I'd been seeing recently.

win4lin patch specifically for this release available at the usual place (although as stahlsau mentioned, the older one works as well).

fbsplash simply doesn't work for me. It's also an awful lot of work for something that was so simple in the past. Oh well. |

well, you only have to do it once - since themes from bootsplash can be used,
and you can skip to step 4 if you use love-sources, making the guide far shorter.
bootsplash was broken in the past loves, so if you wanted to properly use it,
you'd have to run 2.6.7-love8 anyway - feel free to use that for bootsplash.
i'm sorry to hear things did not work out for you. |

So i guess bootsplash is outta tha way??? and gensplash is the definite replacement...? If not I'm not gonna go through the trouble to set gensplash instead of bootsplash |
