I am about to do a fresh install and I had a few questions
what kernel should I use? (thinking 2.6)
xorg or xfree (thinking xorg)
WM, KDE, GNOME (thinking fluxbox or gnome)
what do you use and why _________________ Thanks |

1 - Depends on the target: 2.6 on workstations, 2.4 on servers.
2 - xorg
3 - fluxbox is a really good project, very fast, you could use gnome if you want a desktop environment more than a WM.
......the last thing, in Gentoo you colud do whatever you want |

I agreed with John5788, gentoo-dev-sources it's a good choise, xorg it's the default optino now for the Xserver, and fluxbox it's nice and fast, enjoy yourself. |
