I have had a reoccuring problem with framebuffer enabled 2.4 systems.
on three different systems, the system boots up fine, framebuffer works perfectly during boot on all of them, any gui (gnome/kde) operate fine.
the problem is if i switch to any of the virtual terminals, they come up fine, 1280x1024 res. but once i enter enough commands to cause the screen to scroll: the last command and subsequent commands are completely covered by what i can only describe as whitenoise (looks different boot to boot). this white noise goes away when the terminal again has enough commands to fill the current screen. it alternates like this. one screen good, one screen unreadable... etc
this happens on a 2.4.26 kernel on one machine, if i use the love-sources 2.6.7 source i do not have this problem (terminal is always readable)
the grub.conf line looks like:
kernel (hd0,0)/boot/bzImage root=/dev/hdc3 video=vesa:ywrap,mtrr vga=0x31a hda=ide-scsi splash=silent
just seeing if anyone has solved a similiar experience.
