Hi,
I've got lots of problems with my fresh 2004.2 install that I doing but one that is really puzzling me (like they all aren't ) is when I type dmesg or look at the system log all i have are lines saying
Code: |
evbug.c: Event. Dev: isa0060/serio0/input0, Type: 1, Code: 15, Value: 0
evbug.c: Event. Dev: isa0060/serio0/input0, Type: 0, Code: 0, Value: 0
evbug.c: Event. Dev: isa0060/serio0/input0, Type: 1, Code: 28, Value: 1
evbug.c: Event. Dev: isa0060/serio0/input0, Type: 0, Code: 0, Value: 0

This is just a little snippet of it but the only thing that changes each time is the type, code and value numbers. I thought it might be my usb mouse (that isn't working yet) but I unplugged that and still it keeps adding to the log file with these errors.
The other things I haven't got working are my network cards (both onboard my Asus a7n8x m/b) so it might be to do with them but I really don't have a clue
Anybody any ideas??
Thanks in advance

This mail archive and this debian bug report suggest its an upstream problem. Which version of hotplug are you using? Is there a newer version available? _________________ Quis separabit? Quo animo? |

Ah, that could be a problem. I don't think I have hotplug installed
What exactly does hotplug do? This is my first proper manual kernel (all the others have been genkernels) and I don't think I've ever had to emerge it?
I'm just going to type
and see what happens. Hopefully it'll fix it all but probably not knowing how much linux likes us to mess around with it
Thanks

Hotplug detects all hardware not necessary to boot the system. |

Thanks guys. All solved now and I can get into KDE and use my mouse
Only problem left to solve now is why grub won't boot windows from the sata disk....
Thanks again
