Hmmm - no, sorry, still no clue.
Was this not what you expected ? What did you expect ?
In other words, instead of the log output - what is actually going wrong ?
Have you perused the logs ?
Increased the log levels ?
Googled ? _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /

First off, I must say, that is one of the rudest, sharpest responces I've seen from a member of the Gentoo community. Uncool adaptr, uncool.
Diceman - I'm not exactly sure what the problem is yet, but I've been getting it too. Let's bang our heads together, and maybe we can knock some ideas out.
Also - I'm wondering if you've got another machine on your network to test with. I'm currently running multiple machines - two XP's, an OS 9.2 Mac, and of course the obligatory Gentoo Linux server. I /did/ have ntpd working to the point that my XP system was working great - then I messed with some of the other ntp* command line stuff and it quit... did you try messing with these things too? Don't know about you Diceman, but I'm finding the ntpd suite of programs and how-to's / info / man files very cryptic and confusing - almost unusable.
PM me if you like. _________________ All the world is a stage, And all the men and women, merely players. |

Increase logging levels, read logs, read configs, post configs, check from other PC, man ntpd...
I am assuming you haven't tried any of these; if you have, my apologies.
It tends to even out. |
IF YOU"R NOT GOING TO HELP THAN DONT FUCKING POST AND IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT YOU "SEE" THEN DONT FUCKING LOOK AT THIS THREAD AS SIMPLE AS THAT!!

Here's the answer all! (I think)
I just did this with my system and booya - worked like a charm - the XP system even updates properly.

It was not my intention to snap at you, for that my apologies (as originally stated).
Yet, the post reads exactly like the ones that make me regret clicking:
"Help, my c0mpootrz B0rkz ! Whats mean ? ne1 help ?"
Yes, that is an extreme example - but it has the ingredients.
No information other than a log snippet and not an inkling about what you had expected in its stead.
Again, if this all went up (or down) the wrong orifice then I'm sorry - stuff happens. _________________ >>> emerge (3 of 7) mcse/70-293 to /
