Any Courierpassd installations out there in GentooLand?

I've got a Gentoo machine with courier-imap and squirrelmail. I'd like to set up the change_pass plugin for squirrelmail so that users can change their passwords from squirrelmail's web interface.

The change_pass plugin requires courierpassd and I was able to get it to compile, but it just doesn't work right. It seems to recognize valid users, but it doesn't change the password.

Before boring anyone with the details of my setup, I'd just like to know if anyone was able to make it work. By the way, I'm not trying to do anything fancy like authenticating against MySQL or LDAP.
