just bought a d-link DWL-G510 802.11g card on sale. I popped it into my main linux box to get the pci id off of it. It showed up in lspci and i discovered it should be supported in ndiswrapper. I then installed it in a new box which I built from scratch. Once I got gentoo up and running and finally tried lspci on the new box, the wlan card did not show up. I compiled the 2.6.8 gentoo kernel with wireless support (CONFIG_NET_RADIO = y && CONFIG_NET_WIRELESS = y). wireless-tools is installed. ndiswrapper kernel mod does not insmod cleanly. ndiswrapper -i works but then ndiswrapper -l crashes. All the problems are on an old asus/amd k6-2 rig.
Hopefully someones got a bright idea, cause I'm fresh out. |
