I've installed the livecd bootsplash package on my laptop and copied the config file as /boot/initrd.

But when I start up, the bootsplash doesn't work. Also, if I use any of the config files from /etc/bootsplash/* they don't work either.

Copying one from /usr/share/bootsplash works fine though.

Does anybody know why this happens, or how to use the themes from /etc/bootsplash/* ??

Hmm. Found it myself just after I posted.

Issuing the command '/sbin/bootsplash_initrdgen --all' generates all the relevant initrds for the themes in /etc/bootsplash and places them in /usr/share/bootsplash ready to use.

You learn something everyday on here !
