I've read most of the topics about setitng up emu10k1 with the 2.6 kernel. I compiled mine with genkernel and i would like to use the card without alsa, just with kernel support (someone wrote it's possible). My SB Live! didnt work out of the box, so i added snd-emu10k1 to the modules.autoload.d, it loads succesfully at startup, but the sound doesnt work, i cant listen to mp3s with xmms. Any ideas? |

Under Sound Card Support disable Advanced Linux Sound Architecture and enable Open Sound System and pick Creative SBLive!
I have used this with my SBLive card, although I now use alsa. |

The module is named emu10k1 in OSS, it's only alsa wich uses the snd- prefix. _________________ Always running the most experimental |

Have you tried unmuting the PCM and MASTER levels for the card via alsamixer?
