vidalinux: gentoo desktop out of the box

At http://desktop.vidalinux.com/ you find a new Distro that is a kind of preconfigured desktop version on top of gentoo. Interresting for users that want a quick setup and move bitwise to the higher art of gentooism

I think gentoo is considered a hardcore distro because, you have to go through the whole console install process.
lets look at the common scenario where you bought a new pc and you are really eager to use it. with gentoo atleast you have to got tru the manual, partitioning, install stage 3 plus GPR and setup genkernel, fstab and X.
now all this can be done without manual thanks to anaconda.
then later you can tweak and play around with USE, CFLAGS etc.
It a new choice, the choice to be lazy/impatient.

I can understand that some people would like this but i voted 'no' because i'm spoilt and like things to be set-up how i like them :wink:

Of course, i wish them luck in their project.....the more choice the better
