when i boot up i immediatly run adsl-start but it takes a long time to connect. but if i adsl-start then ctrl-c it immediatly then adsl-start again it connects right away. im not using dhcp and my ip's look fine right off the bat.
what could my problem be?
im running 2.6.7 with an ABIT NF7 with built in ethernet. _________________ you haven't really burned until you've burned from a CLI |

the adsl-* scripts are a mystery that is behind me (or my understanding of bash scripting )
only thing i can recommend you is to run
"sh -x PATH_TO_SCRIPT"
and see where the script "hangs" |

Same thing here, only my dsl doesn't work with kernel 2.6.7 so i am using 2.6.5
As far as i remember dsl script works great with 2.4.* maybe it's related to 2.6.*
I would suggest you to try 2.6.8* as i am going to do that this weakend. |

after running the adsl-setup run:
rc-update add rp-pppoe default (so u dont have to type it when u start up)
and then just
/etc/init.d/rp-pppoe start
I found the adsl-start thing to be damn annoying. this way works a lot better. |

As I said above dsl now works brilliant with 2.6.8-rc2 kernel and it starts up very quickly. |
