yay. after 26 hours no sleep (gah im tired) I got gentoo and xfree going. Nothing else yet really, just gnome, kde and mozilla -- and these fonts are ugly as fuck and need major tweeking, but im so proud of my self.
YAY
(god, never thought id be so happy to see x and mozilla, lynx is ugly) |

Do you really have ugly fonts?
The ebuild for XFree downloads Microsoft's free truetype fonts and freetype has support built in.
By default I found the fonts in gentoo to be really pretty. |
