I just did an install of gentoo linux, and my nic eth0 is configured for DHCP in the configuration file, however upon booting it says "broadcasting for DHCP address", it will do that for about a minute and then fail. Since I roam around alot on many different networks, It'd be nice for the DHCP client to work, and for me to get the DNS numbers on each network automatically assigned. Any ideas out there in expert space? Note, when I was using gentoo from the universal liveCD, it got the proper addresses. _________________ PEBKAC |

Yes, I do. I actually have solved the issue. I deleted all the entries in /etc/resolv.conf, and it worked after that. Why, I don't know, but it did. Any reason you think it'd do that? _________________ PEBKAC |
