|
|
Hello everybody!
I am trying to setup a Mailserver using Postfix. I want to access my Mails via IMAP. I had it up and runng preveiously using a RedHat 9 System. I now switched the OS to Gentoo Linux and would like to have that working again.
My Mails are stored (via procmail) in files linke the following: ~/Mail/Inbox.
Now I want to access the mails stored in such files via IMAP.
Which server should i install and how does that need to be configured?
hope somebody can give a hint.

Red Hat 9 uses uw-imapd by default, so emerging uw-imapd might be the easiest route to take, but on the other hand Courier offers you plenty of nice features and is probably more secure. But if you don't need to support hundreds/thousands or more user accounts, any pop/imap server should be fine. _________________ Yes, I'm the man. courier-imap requires no configuration if you use maildir mailboxes and don't need ssl (and only minimal config to enable ssl) I'm not sure how much work would be needed to change the mailbox support. |
