No second line on my console.

Hi, I am having several graphical related problems. One of the weirdest an most anoying is that I cannot type on to a second line on my console. No matter what I type or how long it is, I can only ever seem to type on to a single line, until whatever I'm typing gets 'pushed out of the way.' It's very odd - and I think it may be related to some graphical instability I am having.

Right now if I try to view any opengl content I am almost guranteed to get a hard lock up, requiring that I hit the reset switch. Also in a possibly seperate issue - but related, I get frequent lockups (using a 2.6x kernel) when switching between the X and a console framebuffer mode. (That is when I do killall KDE or init 3 to get to a console or whatever).

Do any of you guys here have any clue what might be going on?

I have a Radeon 9800 graphics card and an Nvidia Nforce 2.0 motherboard.
