Recently my sound has been cutting out shortly after booting up. It works fine for a while, I'm able to play a few mp3s, watch a few videos, and then suddenly I'll go to play a file and it tells me that /dev/dsp is busy. I realize that this is usually because another program is using /dev/dsp, but that doesn't appear to be the case. I've killed every process which could possibly be using /dev/dsp, but still nothing. I'm not completely sure, but I think this only happens after using mplayer (but not every time I use mplayer, just sometimes). Any ideas?
edit: My apologies for the duplicate post threads, my connection to the forums was flaky and I submitted twice by accident. Please ignore this thread. _________________ aaarggghhhh.
