OK, i left my machine connected all night and qhen i wake up the connection was stopped, it say "modem hangs up" or something. Then i try to connect again like i do a million times but after wvdial send the password it tells "Dont know what to do" and then "starting pppd and waiting for the best". Finally wvdial exit telling me thah pppd died with exit code 10 (failed negotiation).
The funny thung is i was using this connection like for ever and now doesnt work. Why???
PS: I went to Micro$osf WinXP and configure the dialup connection and it works, i dont understand. I dont want Windows and i am using it for writing this. |

Have you tried using KPPP instead? My own wvdial is broken due to a hidden lock file on /dev/modem I cant for the life of me find, however KPPP works great.
When I used to use wvdial however I remember problems like that. you can try save a backup of your old conf, wipe every trace of wvdial from your machine and reinstall it. Also try starting wvidal in the background (wvdial&) which some say improves the PPP handshake. _________________ Zak: Luke's making a 3D interface for Linux"
