Every night, Logwatch tells me that smartd found the following errors:
(Not always exactly the same numbers, but it's always those attributes)
Code:

/dev/hda :
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 247
to 248
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 248
to 251
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 251
to 247
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 251
to 252
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 252
to 253
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 8 Seek_Time_Performance changed from 253
to 252

/dev/hdb :
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 7 Seek_Error_Rate changed from 100 to 200
   1 Time(s): SMART Prefailure Attribute: 7 Seek_Error_Rate changed from 200 to 100

Is that anything I should worry about?

Well, generally that would be bad, but I can't say for sure...

Paste this: 'smartctl -a /dev/hda', 'smartctl -a /dev/hdb'...

Regards,

The tests you see are older tests that I ran when I was first setting up SMART, about a month ago I think.

Well these are the things to watch for:

Quote:
SMART overall-health self-assessment test result: PASSED

SMART Error Log Version: 1
No Errors Logged

So this seems just fine...

man smartctl
Code:

smartctl -t long /dev/hdc

Begin an extended self-test of drive /dev/hdc. You can issue this command on a running system. The results can be seen in the self-test log visible with the '-l selftest' option after it has completed.

Anyway try running a extended self-test, and then look at smartctl -a again.

Good luck,
Pascal de Bruijn

The tests are fine, but I still get those errors in my logs. Strange.
Well, thanks for your help.
