Whenever I boot up my pc, Alsa Mixer always has everything set to mute. If I unmute everything, then reboot, it will be muted again. I know that it used to stick.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

Do you use
Code:
alsamixer
command to unmute your channels?
If you do not do that, then do it this way. To set the levels use the arrow keys on your keyboard...left and right moves from one channel to another, and up and down to select the level, ¨M¨ key to mute unmute the channel. To exit and save your levels just press Escape key.
It worked for me.
Before I was unmuting the channels from KDE sound control applet.

Yes, I am using AlsaMixer. If I turn everything up, and un-mute it, then it'll work at the time, but as soon as I reboot the computer, everything is back to mute.

I have the same problem.. i've found a little fix.. but there must be another way..

Add this to you ' /etc/conf.d/local.start '

Code:

amixer sset Master 80% unmute
amixer sset PCM 70% unmute

Change the percentage to your desired volume.. ' man amixer ' for more information  hth.

That did the trick. If I figure out a proper fix, I'll post it here:)

This works well for me:
https://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?p=612270#612270

or if alsa is compiled as modules you can just add the alsasound to your rc scripts,
"rc-update add alsasound default"
