hi ppl, i have installed the amsn 0.9.2 using emerge and umm, well i noticed the default compile option don't include the "plugins/traydoc" which allows to minimize in tray :(

where is that option in the menu ?
Tools --> Docking --> FreeDesktop (kde3/gnome)

that sux, is there someway to fix other than to install amsn+plugins manually ?

and why does it's fonts are so ugly? i think they are not anti-alyas... :roll:

and don't tell me to use gaim... or switch to gnome... or stop using GUI... or ...

Re-emerge amsn with the imlib USE flag set.

Then choose FreeDesktop in the dock menu.

amsn has no antialiasing due to missing antialiasing support in tcl/tk. (This will be added in a later release of tcl/tk. HOWTO install a AA enabled tcl/tk is covered in an earlier thread (use the search function)).

but i already have imlib activated :
ufed screenshot:

│ [ ] imagemagick ( ) Enables support for Imagemagick (image conv │ │
│ │[ ] imap ( ) Adds support for IMAP │ │
│ │[X] imlib (++ ) Adds support for media-libs/imlib (Image lo │ │

and yeap i did a search before and found that article u said, however i'm too lazy :) gona wait till it gets updated into the portage

anyway while recompiling with all posible options beetween imlib and imlib2 with + and - i found how to fix this :)

cd /usr/share/amsn/plugins/traydock
then we read the README
then we run
Code:
./configure
make

then run amsn and TADA it works :)
yeap i know i'm a genius :wink:

i have enabled free desktop or something so i now have a little msn icon in my systray but asmsn is still on my pannel. How do i make like in windows where you can only see the program in the system tray and not cluttering your desktop?

under the tools menu bar there is a button (close button minimizes), if you select this it will just leave the docking icon when you close the application, the minizes buttion will still leave it in the pannel
