hi,

When my system is loading I see a warning flash by that says "Not all net filesystems can be loaded". I am having trouble with samba. How can I tell if the trouble is that smbfs has been loaded and kernel supported or not?

Shall I remove support for othernetwork file systems except samba and CIFS and recomplie the kernel and see if that warning goes away, or is there some way to know what network filesystems are supported without trial and error?

Thanks :D

What do the log files say?

What happens if you try to mount it by hand?

It appears to me from this log file that I have a problem with my computer name. I have tried changing the name with hostname but it does not survive boot. What file has the computer name in it and how to change it so boot sees the change?

Manually trying to mount the network file systems gives these results:

mount -t smbfs -o debug=4 //dimension4400/XPSC /mnt/dimension4400
"Can't find include file /etc/samba/smb.conf.

If I try to mount CIFS as above it simply gives me a short help note for the mount command.

Thanks so much for your interest and suggestions
