econf failing saying something with sys-devel/gettext SOLVED

When I try to emerge system, it always says econf has failed because of sys-devel/gettext-0.12.1-r1. I have an AMD64 system. Although I've seen this problem has yet been reported, I couldn't find any help.

but for AMD64... maybe I've set the make.conf options wrongly?

I finally suceeded in solving the problem, but don't ask me how... I don't know any more, it was more or less only luck.
