Hi, I have noticed that e2fsck never seems to run on my system. I'm not sure how often it's supposed to run, but I think it's roughly every 30 times I reboot or so.

Also although it doesn't run, I do get a message saying that my file system has exceeded the maximum safe number of times mounted and that running e2fsck is reccomended. But as I said, what I want is for it to run automatically after an appropriate number of reboots.

I also get an error message saying something about e2fsk being 'unable to check my /tmp fs'

What does this mean and how do I resolve it?

Has this got anything to do with the fact that I was running a 2.6x kernel and have now reverted to 2.4x?

GJ
