|
|
The latest portage tree wants to install sys-apps/reiserfsprogs because it's listed in /usr/portage/profiles/default/packages. Reiserfsprogs currently isn't installed on my system -- I don't use ReiserFS, it's not configured in my kernel and I don't want to use ReiserFS.
Anyone know why this is included as part of the default profile? (and more importantly, will I bork something if I mask it?)
tx.

I masked it, 'emerged --update world'-ed, and no problems so far. I wasn't expecting any problems either. As to why it's there... I have no idea. |

Stupid question (boy, am I full of them since I started using Gentoo!)... how do you mask a package?

Check out the Portage Manual (search for package.mask)
Also, look at /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask
