After much searching, i've concluded that either nobody has had a problem with this or nobody's attempted it
I have 2 machines side by side, one running winxp pro *ducks*
the other is my new gentoo box. I run dual monitors on my xp box and have the aux monitor attached to an Aten KVM switch. A ps2 keyboard is attached to the switch, (the output connection to the PC/gentoo box is USB)
the kvm emulates a mouse/keyboard i could care less about the mouse i just want 1 keyboard (:
the problem:
the keyboard attached to the kvm does not function on the gentoo box.
the ps2 keyboard attached to the ps2 port of the gentoo box does work.
the configuration: (please forgive me for the lack of actual config postage as I haven't got sshd started yet)
Device Drivers --->
USB support --->
<*> EHCI HCD (USB 2.0) support
<*> USB Human Interface Devices (HID)
<*> USB Human Interface Device (full HID) support
at bootup a usb keyboard and mouse are found.
hotplug detects the devices being connected/disconnected
oh yeah, this box has no GUI installed so i dunno if its working there, i only need it in console mode.
any ideas?l
edit: the keyboard will work prior to gentoo booting. at the login prompt it does nothing. |
