Hi,

I have a problem that all my settings in the alsamixer reset when I restart my PC.

I have got alsasound in my default startup, but it still won't restore my setting, why?

log in as root and type:

rc-update add alsasound boot

that will save your mixer levels on shutdown and restore them on boot

Code:
echo 'alsactl restore' >> /etc/conf.d/local.start
echo 'alsactl store' >> /etc/conf.d/local.stop

Same problems here with all those alsa settings reverting to the default.

That seemed like a great idea but it gets ignored on my machine. I checked and alsactl restore is appended to the bottom of my local.start file and yes the file works because I use it to run sfxload.

However, going alsactl restore does work when I bring up a terminal and start it manually.

Advice...?

Thanks malloc!
