|

Hi all,
I used Juk a short while ago and changed my tags a bit. Anyway, now when I use xmms to play music (I didn't like Juk's reliance on arts), the right titles don't show up when playing. Instead, I get some garbage like 'fnt' or '-udm' instead.
What appears to have happened is that Juk wrote garbage to an ID3v2 tag (the original information was in an ID3v1 tag).
So far, nothing I've done has gotten rid of the bad tag including manually deleting it or copying the ID3v1 tag over.
If anybody'd be so kind as to point out how to fix this seriously annoying problem, please do.
Also, there's this thoroughly obnoxious habit of xmms now to spit out the genre of something after it closes.
Best,
Alex |

I don't think it's a problem with juk, because amarok and my mp3 player can read the tags.
I have the same problem with xmms.
I just think it's xmms that can't handle id3v2 tags properly,
but I'm not sure about this one. |

I suspect you're right about that. I wound up using easytag to redo the tags that were no longer being read properly.
I need a new music player, xmms is getting too buggy.
