|
|
Hi,
i have some problems with the nice little fvwm.
I want to start an application right after login on a special page. When i use the Style command like this
Code: | Style App StartOnPage 1 1 |
the application starts on the specified page but also gets the focus (the current space is then 1 1).
How could i, for example, start the application on page 1 1 and stay on 0 0 as the current page??
Any help is appreciated!!
Greetz

You can still start an xterm on page 0 0 just after your special appz.
Starting an xterm is not really blocking on page 0 0, and you'll get the focus on that page.
[edit]OK, you're right, this solution is not one of the best idea i ever got

try setting Style <app> NoGrabFocus
that may not be the right setting, but it is the basic idea, and is a more appropriate method, although if there are also applications you want on page 0 0, then starting them afterwards, and perhaps selecting one of them to grab the focus in the same manner, would certainly solve your problem _________________ In Soviet Russia, the computer administers you. Hi,
thx for your answers. I will try the NoGrapFocus tag when i am back home.
Right now i am still pretty new to FVWM and just trying to get an idea of what is possible... the answer seems to be: Everything.
I love it and thanks again.

Hi there,
just tried NoGrabFocus out.
It changed nothing. I also tried GrabFocusOff and ClickToFocus.
Any other tips??
Here is my style
Code: | Style Mozilla GrabFocusOff, StartsOnPage 2 1 |
and ym call on initialization
Code: | +I Exec exec mozilla |
Mozilla starts on 2 1 but the focus doesn't stay in 0 0 like i want it to

Just for some other people having the same problem. Seems like an & at the end of the line is enough. Will try at home.
For example:
Code: | +I Exec exec mozilla & |
