Getting local mail

How can I read the local mail sends the system to root? For example I see in my syslog that postfix sends root some mails. Can I read them with a mail program? Thanks.

you can read them with any mail program. in thunderbird, evolution you must import the local mail to read it, but for those kinds of messages, i prefer console-based programms, like pine
