i have been trying to get framebuffer to work with gentoolinux that i just got done installing lastnight and when i try to use fb it shows the kernel loading then goes to a black screen with the curcer at the bottom blinking.
im useing the 2.6.7 dev sources and have the radeon new fb drivers in the kernel

please help me with this little problem
edit:
my graphics card is a ASUS Radeon 9600 se 128mb
my motherboard is a ASUS A7V8X-X with a AMD 2000+ atholon-xp |

cant help you with the fb but a quick advice from an ati user:
don´t use radeonfb if you plan to use official ati x drivers because theese two wont work together well... use vesafb or vesafb-tng instead. you wont be able to have more then 60hz refresh rate though... |
