Does anyone have a dsdt that works with a dell 600m with the latest bios? Seems the one on acpi.sf.net isn't working with this bios. Also is a custom DSDT even required any more with this laptop?

Can't say I do, but if you're feeling confident you could grab the IASL and have a go yourself - it's not really that tricky. There's often only one or two errors, and the common ones & their solutions are fairly well documented.

As to whether it's required - is ACPI working okay? If you've got all the appropriate entries in /proc/acpi, then it may not be worth dinking with the DSDT.

I have IASL. Where can I get this error documentation?

first check if you have a problem with the DSDT (more than likely u do.) Look at dmesg and see if you have an error about AML (says something like you should nag your manufacturer to fix their implementation) try `dmesg | grep AML`. This page http://www.cpqlinux.com/acpi-howto and this page http://home.fhtw-berlin.de/~s0502837/r31/ and http://theorie.physik.uni-wuerzburg.de/~arwagner/computer/T41p/#DSDT are good places to look. There's also a post on the gentoo forums with good info. If the dumped dsdt (/proc/acpi/dsdt) compiles cleanly then consider yourself lucky, you don't have to do anything.
