I was curious as to what people where looking for in a file manager, so I thought I would post a poll and see what people are using.
Thank you for participating! |

I use nautilus simply because it comes with my desktop of choice - gnome.
However most of the time i use an xterm, cause it's faster for me. I guess i would use konqueror, rox or whatever if it came with gnome. |

Browser nautilus for multimedia, zsh for everything else. Zsh definately beats bash for file management. For example recursive globbing:
would remove all files named junk in all subdirectories. Sure, you could just use find, but it's more of a hassle.
Another handy feature is glob qualifiers for finding certain types of files.
This one lists all symbolic links in the current directory.
Glob qualifiers work for pretty much everything find supports, i.e. finding by ownership, size, access time, etc.. There's a man page here; glob qualifiers are at the end. |

I use ROX/Zsh. Usually when I use ROX though, I end up hitting '~' and opening aterm. Of course, you'd never catch me using XFE. I definitely don't need anything to remind me of the horrors of Explorer in Windows. |

Konqueror, I'm liking the little previews and it's not spacial. Plus quite a bit of bash when a GUI just doesn't seem right somehow. |

bash almost exclusively. I have nautilus installed but hardly ever use it. Basically use it for managing my MP3 collection. All other times I use bash. |

For managing my OGG collection I use a mixture of ROX+BMP. I use ROX to separate things by groups into folders, then BMP to play the music and make playlists. |
