Hi,
Has anyone successfully installed oracle 9ias 1.0.2.2.1 on gentoo.
I am trying the enterprise edition installation to get the forms server.
Initially I was getting an illegal instruction fault from the installer now I am getting a segmentation fault from the installer, possibly at the end of the installation of the forms server section.
I have managed to get the 9.0.1 database installed.
I have been running the 8.1.7 database under linux since it came out without any problems using redhat7.0, and mandrake 7.2.
Any info would be welcomed.
cheers

I have installed the Oracle 9i client, and it went flawlessly. I haven't tried to install the server yet thought.
I guess this really doesn't help you. Sorry. |

Thanks
If you install the 9.0.1 database server you might want to check out this site http://www.puschitz.com/InstallingOracle9.html about what to do when the linking of the executables fail. I took the easy path and modified genclntsh. |
