Hello!
I have this nice Compaq keyboard that has 8 fancy shortcut keys on it. I'm wondering if there is a software that would halp me to use them?
Thank you. _________________ Beat your dick like it owes you money |

If you use KDE everything is pretty easy - just select the corresponding keyboard model in KDE Control Center -> Regional and Accessibility -> Keyboard Layout, then go to Hotkey Manager and assign these keys to something. If you aren't using KDE you'll have to manually assign key names to scancodes (which can be obtained by running Xev from a terminal emulator and pressing these keys). Search the forums for 'xmodmap' or use its manpage for more info. Also note that kenels-2.6.x may have problems with keys with scancodes>300 (it was reported several times). _________________ 60s: sex, drugs, rock'n'roll

Some multimedia keys refuse to work? See my mini-howto:
