I am using ssh for maintaining a gentoo box. How can I emerge a package without watching at this process? After closing the session, the emerge breaks (of course). Would be nice to update the system in the night without a running client Thx,

Then

# screen
# emerge package

Then while in the screen session, Ctrl+A then Ctrl+D will detach the session, and you can re-attavch it with

Code:

# screen -r
