i am trying to reinstall gentoo onto my computer. the liveCD i downloaded has a corupted stage3 instal. i got a new stage3 and portage on another cd. i use gentoo -cdcache, at the beging durring the boot up but still cannot get the cdrom to unmount so i can change out cd's....any suggestions? _________________ "In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti." |

Did you try using the eject command? Do you get an error message when you umount or can you just not take the CD out? |

the eject command comes back with an error that it is not recognized and when you try to umount /mnt/cdrom.....it says that the device is busy. it says it is busy cause it is the op system but when i use -cdcache it should cache the op sys so that the drive can be used but it isnt working. _________________ "In Nomeni Patri Et Fili Spiritus Sancti." |
