hello, my first post here, a complete linux newbie, although i managed to install gentoo with a friend just yesterday, so i have a lot of questions. one of them is the next:

in winbugs i had a no-ip account working fine, which 3 friends and me used (the same account) so we could transmit radio by icecast with the same adress at different times, so people could just plug to the same url at anytime without noticing we were different guys who transmitted the radio at different times.

well i had to start no-ip when i was transmitted and stop it when i ended and the other guy started so we wouldnt have any problems with that, everything worked fine.

now im trying to do the same on gentoo but cant find a way to open (or close) the no-ip client, ie emerged it but i cant figure out how to do this, because of course, i want to keep doing the same thing, with the same account .

hope someone can help me , thanks in advance

Assuming you've emerged & configured it properly, you can start and stop it manually like this:

Code:
# Do this as root
/etc/init.d/noip start
/etc/init.d/noip stop

Is this what you were looking for?
