Hi,
I'm trying to get radonfb (new driver, kernel 2.6.7) working for my 1280x800 display on my laptop. I know it's been done before, as I've seen a lot of people use it, but I can't seem to get mine to work. Basically, when the framebuffer is about to start, the screen goes blank. I've checked most of the threads I could find on the subject, with no answer to this question.
Here is the output of dmesg:
Code: | Starting monitor auto detection...

Didn't find panel in BIOS table !
Guessing panel info...
radeonfb: Assuming panel size 1400x1050
radeonfb: Power Management enabled for Mobility chipsets
radeonfb: ATI Radeon Lf DDR SGRAM 32 MB
radeonfb_pci_register END |
Basically, it seems to detech a 1400x1050 screen, when what I have is 1280x800. I've upgraded both system BIOS and video BIOS... I've also tried with and without DDC/I2C support, same results.
Here's what I have in grub.conf:
Code: | title TEST Gentoo Linux Kernel 2.6.7
root (hd0,1)
kernel /bzImage_test root=/dev/hda6 video=radeon:1280x800-24@60 |
I've also tried with just video=radeon:1280x800, but that didn't change anything either.
Any ideas on what could be the problem, or how to solve it?
Thanks a lot |
