hi there

after (well, i think it is after this) i watched a movie using the geexbox linux mplayer-live cd my /etc/modprobe.conf (and /etc/modules.cont) looks like that:

Code:
@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^....

what happend? my sound, my network, my usbmouse and keyboard do not work anymore!

i had serveral errors at boot :

- calculating module dependencies
- configuring network interfaces
- loading alsa drivers...

i tried to load the network module with:

Code:
modprobe 8139cp

and
Code:
modprobe 8139too

but it said "module not found"

it looks like a hart dogshit happend.

please help meeeee......
thanks!

sear,

Your luck might be in. /etc/modules.conf is regenerated from the files in /etc/modules.d/ when you run update-modules.

If your etc/modules.d/ is intact all you need to do is
Code:
update-modules
.
