I have 2 questions. 1, when will reiserfs 4 support be added to the vanilla 2.6 kernel tree? 2, on gentoo-wiki.com they said that ntfs write support now works with the 2.6.8 kernel, is this true or should I just use captive ntfs? |

1) When they think it's stable enough - "they" being mostly Linus & cohorts, but while namesys.com have "EXPERIMENTAL" splashed around in red, it's a fair bet it won't be integrated.
2) Haven't heard about it - which is far from saying that's wrong. Will have to look into this - stable writes could be _very_ useful. |

i think its the same amount of support as it was before, u can write to a file but only to be able to change contents and the file has to save as the same exact file size. no creating new files nor direcotries. i might be wrong though. _________________ John5788 |

Thanks for that info, not too interested in reiserfs 4, 3 is doing fine for me atm but NTFS write support would be a godsend to me because I despise fat and I'm a gamer so I have to have windows installed. |

Meh stupid Microsoft and damn proprietary filesystems, I don't want to even think about when Longhorn comes out with its new filesystem . |
