Hi,

after a long struggle, I managed to get the sun java plugin working with Mozilla, primarily because I need it to do my netbanking.
Alas! When I logon to my netbanking page, I get this:

You are using a Plug-in Java Virtual Machine that is not supported. The supported JVMs are : (bunch of versions from 1.3.0 to 1.4.1)

Looking at about:plugins I see my plugin is :
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.0-gentoo-1040328867
What gives? Why isn't it just called 1.4.0? Is there a way to change this name back? I know it can work, because I've used before under Linux, and I was currently keeping an old win partition just for this. I'd hate to have to keep this just because the name of my JVM under linux is not accepted... :(

Any ideas? Do I change some code and recompile, or should I do a sed on the .so?

Hi fellow Belgian,

I assume you're using DEXIA netbanking ? I'm having similar problems, even on windows : I'm using java 1.4.1_01 while the latest supported version is 1.4.1 - duh. I mailed them to ask when the latest version would be supported, and they had the helpful suggestion to downgrade...

On linux my VM is :

Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.0-jv_compiled-2002-10-31

Same problem. Easiest way would be to trick the VM to give back 1.4.0 like it should...any hints are appreciated!
