In Questi giorni non ho niente da fare... e avrei voluto tenermi in esercizio installando gentoo da stage1 con un kernel 2.6 (adesso ho ancora il 2.4)...
Una Domanda... Quando la serie 2.6 diventera' gentoo-sources ???
Stavo dando una letta alla guida quando nel portage ho visto bootstrap-2.6.sh
Che differenza ha con il bootstrap 'normale' ???

 Non devi avere veramente niente da fare... ma emergere un kernel 2.6 pareva troppo facile?

Non credo a breve, ci sarebbero problemi di dipendenze, nomi etc. Il 2.6, per quanto stabile, rimmarà (imho) gentoo-dev-sources ancora a lungo. Da qualche parte c'era un topic (anche più d'uno) che discuteva di questa cosa.

Il 2.6 costruisce il sistema partendo direttamente da un kernel 2.6 (header etc etc), mentre l'altro considera ancora un sistema 2.4 like.

Anche io in questo periodo sto reinstallando [e purtroppo la cosa sa diventando un po' lunga, cmq] ed anche io mi ero posto la questione... Il diff non mi ha chiarito la faccenda... Ma la cosa buffa sai qual è? se do un -f [fetch, scarica ma non installa i pacchetti necessari al bootstrap] agli scripit la differenza è che bootstrap-2.6 mi chiede gli header del kernel 2.4  boh, comunque lanciando bootstrap normale tutto va ed il sistema si monta che è na meraviglia, quindi

Io con il bootstrap 2.6 ho avuto un po' di problemi quindi ho sempre usato quello normale

Perche' quando faccio partire il bootstrap.sh
mi compila tutto con -march=i386 ???
Io Ho Messo -march=pentium4...

l'unica differenza sensibile che ho trovato è stato che il bootstrap-2.6 ti installa direttamente i sys-apps/module-init-tools mentre con il bootstrap normale se vuoi installare un kernel 2.6 devi emergerli a mano.

sicuro che non ti compili solo portage con i386?
