Hi!
When I put an audio CD, it seems to read it correctly but I don't hear anything. I suppose there is something to unmute, but what?
Thanks! |

If the cd rom audio cable is not connected to the soundcard you can also use players that support the reading of audio cdroms as data. XMMS can do it with the xmms-cdread plugin, and KsCD should be able to do it too. |

If you're using XMMS, be sure that the CD-Rom device file in the setup is correct. It defaults to _________________ -It's gonna take a lot of fireworks to clean this place up. |

Hi!
There is no problem with the cable to be connected with the cdrom as it is a laptop.
I use XMMS. |

I have a Sony Vaio that I have to use xmms-cdread, just as tlaloctlaloc recomended.
Just emerge xmms-cdread, enabled the plugin under input plugins. The to play add file to play list and add /dev/cdrom (or whatever your cd device is) |

Hi again.
I emerged the plugin and enabled it but still doesn't hear anything.
Can it be that it's in digital reading instead of direct play?
Is there anything to unmute? |
