Ok, I'm new to this dynamic IP thing. I had my Gentoo box working magnificently over at my old place with a static IP. Move into the new place, and now I'm stuck with dynamic IPs. I figure I can just run /sbin/dhcpcd and I'll get an IP. NOT.
A few questions here:
1) In the install guide, it says to run adsl-setup and adsl-start during the installation process. Since I already have a working Gentoo install, this is no longer an option for me. Do I still need to run this, and if so, how?
Do I also need to run net-setup eth0?
2) I'm going through SBC Yahoo DSL (Pacbell). It requires a username and password on my Windows XP box, along with some software. Do I need some type of client for Linux? I'd be very pissed if I have no options here.
Thanks. I'm sure I'll have more questions. |

Just run adsl-setup. You will be able to configure the network adapter to use, the username and password and DNS. _________________ Robert |

ok, i finally got that far (there's a lot more steps than that). When I run adsl-start, I get the following message:
Code: | /usr/sbin/adsl-start: line 193: 11408 Terminal $CONNECT "$@" > /dev/null 2>&1 |
Anyone see this?[/code] |
