|
|
I'm nearly done with a new 2004.2 install. My setup includes an LVM partition at /dev/hda4. I've just successfully emerged lvm2 and the next step is Code: | # echo 'devices { filter=["r/cdrom/"] )' >> /etc/lvm/lvm.conf | After issuing that command, the response is Code: | bash: /etc/lvm/lvm.conf: No such file or directory | Should I simply create the missing directory and issue the command again or is the absense of /etc/lvm/ indicative of some installation step I missed that would have created a default /etc/lvm/lvm.conf file? |

That step isn't actually necessary. It just saves some time if lvm would try to scan your cdrom. You could create the directory, or you could just ignore that step and move on to making your physical volumes. |
