Well, first off could you post your /etc/fstab?
And what do you mean by it takes too long? Are you worried
about boot time as a whole or just really mounting the disk?
my own fstab is as follow:
Code: | /dev/hda8 / reiserfs noatime,notail 0 1
/dev/hda7 none swap sw 0 0
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0 /mnt/cdrom auto user,noauto,rw 0 0
/dev/hda9 /home reiserfs noatime 0 2
/dev/hda4 /mnt/OSX hfsplus user,noatime,rw 0 0

The only real problem I have is that at each boot I have a short
fsck of my partitions because at the end of the shutdown process
gentoo remount the partition readonly. This in turn make them
unclean at the next boot. Each time I mention this and ask how you
can avoid it here, the forum goes very quiet....
Cheers,
