The setup is as follows.
Using CUPS, Ghostscript, gimp-print and foomatic, I've always had fairly good results with my Epson Stylus Colour 480.
The problem is that there's an intermittent and really strange artifact that sometimes crops up during printing. Using certain applications and on certain occasions (IE. it sometimes appears during printing from mozilla, sometimes from OpenOffice, though not all the time, and not usually consistantly) I seem to get some kind of header on the page, usually REMOTE1PMSN, although I sometimes used to get RREMOTE1PMSN instead. I've had this intermittent issue for ages, through multiple kernels, and multiple distros (I occasionally got it with Mandrake as well, way back when.)
There's probably a simple answer somewhere in the options for one or more programs, but I can't find it. Also, googling seems to produce no matches anywhere. *shrug*
