The Problem with this GPS Receiver under Linux is that in the default settings of the GPS Receiver the NMEA protocoll is not set.
You must do this with an tool under windo*s. This tool called SiRF Demo". You can get this here.
Befor you can use the programm, you must install the windo*s driver for your GPS-Receiver. Get it here.
When you first start SiRFDemo enter the Com port, through the usb device is virtually connected to. For more details look up the "hardware manager" or how ever is called (don't know how is called in the engl. version ).
I had to choose "Com3".
Then you choose "Action -> Syncronise Protocol & Baud Rate" and finally "Action -> Switch to NMEA Protocol".
Then you can shutdown your windo*s, hopely forever .
Now the GPS Receiver puts out data through the NMEA ASCII Protocol, with the gpsd server likes to eat
